ESA to UC identity meeting was created by ScotD23
My son has submitted his online claim following letter and now the option to identify online is removed, though we were struggling to get the docs together for that, seemed different from what they want in persons (In person they take bank cards and nat insurance card).

He has been sent an appointment for Monday before lunch, which is short notice amd all a struggle for him, also worried we'll get him dropped off there but if on his own inside- as he's on ESA/PIP they might use it to make some sort of going places claim. (je has been there before many years ago) . Also hjs health makes getting mywhere at set times, esp in mornings v diff, he gets meds and sleep pills, but were hoping its just an in-out so get him through it..

Lastly due to his health and having had severe side effects to prev illness (had to go to A&E on doc advice multiple times) , he still masks anywhere public and would do this at the centre. We are hoping this does not provide amy id issues, if they want to see his face outside that fine but he masks indoors. Or should he request online an alternative like telephone ID? just want to get it out way.

Hi ScotD23

One of the reasons why your son has been ask to see his work coach is to sign his claimant commitment.

The conditions for claiming Universal Credit are set out in a "claimant commitment" that most people will have to accept at the beginning of their claim. If you are part of a couple, you will each have a separate claimant commitment that may be different from each other's.

People who may not need to accept a commitment include those who lack capacity, those who have exceptional circumstances  where it would be unreasonable to expect them to agree a commitment (this is decided by the work coach on a case by case basis), or, From 15 February 2022 people with a terminal illness and less than 6 months to live were also excluded, and from 4 April 2023 this was extended to 12 months.

There are 4 conditionality groups:

* Group 1. No work related requirements
* Group 2. Work-focused interview requirement
* Group 3. Work preparation requirement
* Group 4. All work-related requirements

Ah it was titled as identity meeting with all the requirements so thought would just be that at this stage.
