UC migration was created by BigTam
Just a quick query on UC migration from ESA. As I understand it there is no option to download the form to complete, It has to be done online or by telephone?
Can you tell me if the form that you complete online is the same as the UC50, or is it completely different?
Thanks

Hi BigTam,
Please see response from Google:
Yes, the UC50 form is essentially the same as the ESA50 form online, as both are questionnaires used to assess your capability for work when claiming either Universal Credit (UC) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), meaning they ask very similar questions about your health conditions and how they impact your ability to work; the only difference is the name depending on which benefit you are applying for.
Key points about UC50 and ESA50 forms:
Purpose:
Both forms are used to determine if you qualify for the "limited capability for work" element within your benefit claim, which provides additional financial support if your health significantly limits your ability to work.
Similarities:
The questions asked on both forms are largely the same, assessing your difficulties with various activities like mobility, communication, and mental health.
Differences:
The only key difference is the form name, "UC50" for Universal Credit claims and "ESA50" for Employment Support Allowance claims.
Chris.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the reply but that was not the question I asked, perhaps I didn't explain it clearly enough.
I was hoping to find out when you start the online process of filling in the relevant information for the migration process if it is basically a UC50 form online that you complete, or are the questions completely different to them in the UC50?
If any fellow members have been through this process perhaps they could shed some light on this? (would be greatly appreciated)
Thanks in advance

Hi BigTam
`Hopefully, someone might be able to answer your question - but remember if someone is moving from ESA to UC - they won't have seen the UC50 before - to know if it is identical.

BIS If they had read Chris's reply before my follow up question they would have seen from their response that both forms are basically the same?
And they would have had experience of completing the ESA50 before migrating too UC?
Maybe I am misunderstanding something from your reply,🤷‍♂️🤔Apologies if this is the case.
