Managed Migration was created by cats6
From April 2026, the UC health element will be frozen at £97pw until 2029/30.
For new claims, the rate of the UC health element will be reduced by £47pw (from £97pw in 2024/2025 to £50pw in 2026/2027).
I'm slightly confused regarding the above
I will be managed Migration from income related ESA, support group. I understand the transitional protection.
IF my invitation for managed Migration claim date is after April 2026
Would my claim on UC then be classed as a new claim ? To incorporate those rate cuts as stated above?
In essence is there a possibility of being affected by the UC health element cut if my managed Migration is after April 2026
Also on managed Migration to UC..
if applicable
When does a claim date actually start is it from the DWP's dated invitation or from the date I contact them .
Thank you!

Hi cats6
I cannot answer your first question but maybe Forum members will give their opinions.
As for your last question it is neither. The UC claim start date is the date of submission.

Any further updates to this , feedback.
"In essence is there a possibility of being affected by the UC health element rate cut if my managed Migration is after April 2026"
And is there now any information about the suggested premium payment to replace the proposed rate cut of UC health element.

Hi cats6
As you're being migrated, I don't think you will count as a 'new claim', and I would expect your migration to have been completed before 2026. However, we can't confirm anything as the changes are not yet being implemented.
