New PIP eligibility rules unclear was created by Mavvy
I am confused by the announcement about new PIP eligibility. It's being reported that it will come into effect in November 2026 and will affect up to 1.2 million people. Does this mean that every claimant without the min 4 points will lose the benefit on that date? Or will it happen when they are next reviewed? I am 67 with an ongoing award for enhanced daily living but with only 2 points max on any activity. My next review is in 2031. I have had a worsening in my condition but was advised I didn't need to report it as I was already on the higher rate. Understandably I am very anxious and concerned about all this and would really appreciate any clarification on how it's going to be applied. Many thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mavvy,
You are in the same boat as millions of others who likely feel this way - myself included! - I think it may be best in my personal opinion, to wait until the budget on 26th March, and then we hopefully will have more clarity about what the government want to do. I'm sure Steve will update everything in the newsletter and website, after this event. I know it can be very worrying, but we can't act on guess work as the saying goes.
Chris.

Thanks so much Chris. Hard to be patient - so much anxiety for everyone but great to have this forum and everyone in it together

Hi Mavvy,
I know - I totally agree with you, and it is causing much stress, and many sleepless nights for many concerned.
Each day brings us closer to clarification, however, as to whether this is a good or bad thing, only time will tell.
Chris.
