Another pip question for current claims was created by speo77
I have a question and I'm confused , I get high rate on both mobility and daily living, I'm yet to transfer to UC .
My question is , I have scored 6 points on one descriptor for pip, plus others are 2 taking me over the 12 needed. So will I be reassessed even though I am already scoring 6 on one of the descriptors. ? Surely I can just fill the form in exactly as I did and receive the 6 points again ? If that makes sense .....the descriptors are not changing so why would they downgrade me if that's the case
Or if you are already scoring what's needed (4 points in one descriptor) are you just left alone, or will everyone be reassessed ?
My condition is progressive and for life .
Thank you for your time .

Hi speo77
Nothing has yet been confirmed and there will need to be legislation before any changes are confirmed. We don't yet know how they are going to manage the process if they go ahead and some people lose their eligibility. It what they have announced stands they will be looking at people who have not scored 4 points in a section and that doesn't apply to you. Will that change? We can't say.

Hi speo77
I was sent the following information by the DWP in their Touchbase newsletter which may answer part of your question.
Please note there will be no immediate changes to PIP. Our intention is that the changes will apply to new claims and award reviews from 2026, subject to parliamentary approval.
If someone is getting PIP now and could be affected by the changes we plan to make to eligibility, the changes will only apply at their next award review.
Accessible versions of the Green Paper will be published soon, after which the full 12-week consultation period will commence. The consultation will seek views on the approaches government should consider around reform of the health and disability benefits system and employment support and will gather diverse perspectives to help refine the proposed reforms, ensuring they are effective and inclusive.
