DWP dirty tricks, are they to be expected? was created by AnonymousM
My fear with this 4 points in one category is that the DWP will now be looking for reasons to give us less points, so that we completely fail to get PIP.

When I had my first assessment, it was about 20% true and 80% made up of DWP lies. They'd said I was fine when I had a stack of paperwork, it even went against me that I turned up for my assessment! I had to go to tribunal in the end and won both my ESA and PIP. The next assessment was a lot fairer and they actually didn't lie, but I wonder if it's because they know I'd take them to court?

Although I do have 4 points in one category in my last assessment, I'm now worried about the future, as I imagine they will be reassessing people and intentionally giving less points in the categories they previously had 4 on. Am I worried about nothing? Or are we going to have to go all the way to tribunal again?

If anything my conditions have gotten worse, due to a complete lack of support and the state of the NHS. I will be due a reassessment soon, and if I lost my income I wouldn't be able to afford anything, so I can't stop worrying about this.

Hi Anon,

Sorry to hear about your situation, and like thousands of others, we feel your pain, as we too are thinking along the same lines. I would say to read the new PIP/UC changes tab at the top of this page, and then try the best you can to wait and see what happens in the budget on 26th March.
A lot of the PA4 forms that are returned to people are highly inaccurate. We receive thousands of posts mentioning this, and I myself have experienced this on more than one occasion and it's not good!

From what my understanding is what the new system will be, whilst the points will not change until November 2026 I believe, and the scores of 8 points for standard and 12 points for higher will still be required, you are correct in assuming that 4 points in one category will still be required in order to be successful for PIP.

Hope this helps ease your mind a little.

Chris.
