Help please was created by Arthritic Annie
My head is utterly fried, please help/ advise; I have been receiving the higher rate of pip for about 7 years. In 2023 my condition deteriorated and unfortunately i had to go of wotk sick. I have been claiming contributon esa since end of 2023. I was reassessed last year for pip and completed the wca for esa around the same time. I was rewarded pip and support group for esa on paper assessments. I don't receive any other benefits. Now for my questions; - I requested a copy of my report for esa and this was sent, I requested one for the pip assessment but was told there wasn't one- is this correct or should there be one available? - based on my original and only report I have for pip I will more than likely loose my pip daily living. I can not fathom how I ( and many others) are disabled enough today to receive this money but when these changes come in we loose everything! I use my money to survive, pay for physio, podiatry and a special diet. What am I supposed to live on snd will I be offered these appointments via the NHS? - are there new changes coming in for the wca this year? Did I read that they have changed points for some of the questions? - when am I likely to be reassessed for esa? There's was no timefrsme on the report my pip is for 4years. -will these changes actually happen? Is there anyway they can / will be stopped? - I am so scared. As I'm sure lots of people are. This is all absolutely terrifing. I'm sure you sick of these kinds of questions but I can't see anything specific to this. Thank you for your help.

Hi Arthritic Annie
PIP
In the past, paper-based assessments used to generate a report - a PA5 - but since the pandemic, the DWP seemed to have stopped doing them - so the information you were given is correct.
Even if you do not have a copy of the report - you must have received a decision letter that tells you the points you have been awarded. If you have not scored four points in any section for Daily Living, then there's a possibility your PIP is at risk if the proposed changes come into being. However, that change is still a proposal, and until it has been confirmed and there is an exact date for implementation, we don't know exactly who is going to be affected, so we can't advise you on what to do. I know it is scary, but as changes are confirmed, Steve will report on them in the newsletter. In the meantime, try to stay away from reading about it. There is nothing you can do at the current time, and it will only increase your distress.
ESA
At some point, you will receive a migration notice to move from ESA to Universal Credit. I can't tell you when that will be. That should be a smooth process and you won't be assessed again. When you will next have an assessment is impossible to say.

Thank you.
Yes, the highest o scored on any single activity was a 3. So not the golden 4 unfortunately. I must actually compare it to the original decision from my first award to see if there is any difference.
Re the esa. I'm not entirely sure which I receive butvits the one based on contributons. ( I am jot entitled to UC) will I still receive a migration notice for this type? I thought it was just legacy benefits but maybe I'm wrong. That's why I was wondering what might happen going forward.
Thanks

Hi Arthritic Annie
Sorry, my mistake regarding UC. We haven't heard of what might happen going forward.
I'm sorry that you haven't got the 'magic 4' at the moment. We will have to see what is going to happen. Awful for you and everyone who is left in limbo wondering what will happen.
