New Style ESA claim moved to UC?

New Style ESA claim moved to UC? was created by SaneInside
The family member I've been helping with the migration from ESA Support Group (income related) to UC has a new journal entry saying "You have a phone appointment to discuss your New Style ESA claim after the move to UC".

Two things;
We don't understand what "New Style ESA claim" is about, I thought it was migration to UC or is it some terminology I'm not understanding? It's confusing and I've not had much luck on Google.

What kind of questions will phone appointment likely involve? Is it the same/similar as a WCA? Could their answer affect if they are still in support group? Will they have to answer health/medical questions?

Thank you for your help in these anxious times.

P.S as a follow up to a previous thread about uploading bank statements and documents through the journal rather than travelling to the JC to do it in person; they allowed us to do that, upload them. It's worth asking if you can't get to the JC.

Hi Saneinside

Glad you had a positive result regarding uploading the bank statements. Hopefully others will be spared a journey to the Jobcentre.
As you are in the Support Group you just have to agree to inform them of a change of circumstances.
You will get Contributions Based ESA fortnightly and UC monthly.

Yhink the following has happened

The family member may have had a combined income based and old style contribution based ESA and when you claim UC the contribution based ESA is seperated and converted to New Style ESA which you will be paid separately but treated as income for their UC.
