PIP Review and using phrases such as "overwhelming psychological distress" etc was created by cascade
Hi, I was wondering when filling in the PIP review form, if when writing how I am affected by the condition for a descriptor is it a good idea to use the specific terms in the descriptor such as for Activity 1 of Mobility (Planning and following the route of a journey)?
I am already getting descriptor "e" for this (Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress), and as I do not have access to my previous assessment since a mental health nurse spoke to the DWP over the phone for this, and since moving to a new area of England I do not have such services due to how badly run the mental health services are here.
So, even though there is no change, I want to make sure that they know how it affects me.
Not sure if writing specifically that it causes me overwhelming psychological distress to undertake any journey on most days is necessary or helpful to do as part of me describing how I am affected?
I have not returned the form, and I am late doing so, but I called the DWP PIP line and they said that I do not actually need to return the form since they have forwarded my case to the assessment provider, since I had a flag on my case file (I assume it's what's called the AS Additional Support marker) due to mental health so that non-return of a form does not mean the claim ends.
I am worried that this may mean an assessment, and the assessment provider text me a month ago to let me know that they are managing my PIP assessment as well as the DWP letting me know by text a few days earlier that they have forwarded my case to the health assessment provider for help to review my award.
I am not sure if it is even worth returning the form now, as I am guessing they will make me do an assessment, even though it says from the assessment provider text message that they "will look at all the available evidence and contact me with an appointment if we need to have a consultation with you".
I am quite confused what to do if sending in the form is worth it and/or could mean possibly not getting to have to do an assessment with the provider if they receive the PIP form before they take my case on (the DWP PIP line said that it is likely on a pile waiting for them to look at at the assessment provider).

Hi cascade
When you use the term suffering from overwhelming psychological distress you need to paint to picture in words as to how it affects you, remember the assessor does not know you and don't use grey words such as, 'sometimes' , 'maybe' or on a 'good day'.
I quite often use the term; 'I have bad days and worse day' and then put in an explanation.
