Is the ‘Help to Claim’ helpline (for migration to UC) a part of the actual Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)? Or is it a separate organisation? I have not found them particularly helpful.
There is no such thing as CAB anymore. Help to Claim consists of paid staff who have a contract with the DWP to deliver a service assisting UC claimants. Local Citizens Advice is mainly staffed by volunteers and gives advice on many issues such as consumer disputes, divorce and Benefits. You can request face to face advice and ask for help with Benefits tribunals.
