First CB ESA payment after migration to Universal Credit was created by Anna
Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of migrating to UC. Have screenshot lots of helpful tips from here which have been very useful. So far no requests for fit notes etc, and I have requested a reasonable adjustment for accepting commitments over the phone as I am housebound (will see whether they actually allow it).
I had my last 2 week run on payment of ESA 2 weeks ago (9th May) and today (23rd May) I just received my first CB only ESA payment.
I noticed that CB ESA should be £140.55 pw, but I have received a payment of £310.85 (£155.42 pw).
I'm slightly concerned as I have had my share of mistakes on the DWPs part that ended up costing me greatly (see my previous post).
Any idea why my payment was £15 more per week than it should be? I don't want them coming after me but I'm not calling them up again as the last time I had my ESA suspended for 3 months due to their own error that I flagged and was punished for.
Any help here would be helpful

Hi Anna
At the moment I cannot think why that has happened. Maybe some other Forum members have had the same thing and can explain, hopefully ?

Thanks for your response David.
Whilst trying to calculate why my transitional protection is less than it should be (still haven't solved this yet), I inadvertently worked out why I received extra, and thought I'd post in case anyone else runs into this.
My ESA was Contribution Based with an Income Related top up, which essentially means the enhanced disability premium and Severe Disability Premium were the only actual run on payments. The £140.55 standard ESA payment was deducted from UC.
My UC claim started 2 days after my last ESA payment (paid on Friday 25th April, claim started Monday 28th April), meaning there were 2 extra days over the weekend that I was not covered by UC, and was therefore due ESA at the full rate including the Income Related top up/premiums.
Enhanced Disability Premium = £21.20 pw
Severe Disability Premium = £82.90pw
Total = £104.10
Daily this is £104.10/7 = £14.87
So 2 days of extra IR top up would be = £29.74
This was added to my first CB only ESA payment of £281.10, giving a total of £310.84 (I received £310.85).
