Reporting changes to UC and PIP was created by Angie
Hi

I am in a total quandry as what to do now with the changes that are afoot. I am autistic and I have ADHD. I was have an award for 10 years daily living. I wanted to appeal it at the time because I felt I needed more assistance but as I had a 10 year award I would live with it. I didn't appeal because I had a full-time job and simply did not have the energy. At the time I just had an autsim diagnosis, I received an ADHD diagnosis 4 years later, but I covered the symptomatology in my original application so didn't notify them of the ADHD diagnosis because there was nothing to add really, it is a lifetime condition.

However, in the last 2 years I have acquired diagnosis of COPD, OSA, Type 2 diabetes, Hypertension and Fibromyalgia. I need more help but my current award runs until 2029. I had planned on letting them know about the changes to my health hoping to get the mobility aspect - the lung conditions affect my mobility, but now I just don't know what to do.

I also get UC and I am in the LCWRA group so I am worried that I would need to let them know too and I couldn't survive without UC and PIP.

I founded a charity to help neurodivergent people and I have helped a number of people get full PIP awards just for being autistic. With the help of B&W I know how to complete PIP forms. I do get paid a little working self-employed but I am a volunteer for the charity, I don't get paid.

I have had decision paralysis for over 18 months with this do I or don't I now?

Any advice greatly received. I guess one thing I am curious about are people still getting long awards or in light of the changes are DWP just dishing out short awards to get people off PIP as soon as possible.

Hi Angie

We cannot answer your question as only you know yourself.

Quite often claimants apply for a change in their circumstances, but the changes do not fit with the criteria they are being assessed against. You need to check your condition against our latest guides, B&W also has a self-test link under the PIP tab called "take the PIP test".
