I'm really struggling with the AR1 form I received this month. 73 different sections to fill out! I keep getting too overwhelmed. My question is does anyone have any guidance on section 67?
Activity 9 Mixing with other people 67 asks What would you do if these people were not there to help you?
Apart from the obvious of having to consider life without my support network (thanks DWP) I also have no idea how to frame my response. Anyone had any luck wrapping their head round this one? Thanks

Hi NicW
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.
We cannot answer your question as we do not know you, but this activity considers your ability to engage socially, which means to interact with others in a contextually and socially appropriate manner, understand body language and establish relationships; all these matters must be considered.
The activity should consider your ability to engage with people generally, not just with people you know well or with your own age group or gender. It should consider your ability to engage one to one or with a small group, rather than with a crowd
One descriptor deals with whether or not you need social support to be able to engage with other people.
Another descriptor refers to an inability to engage with other people due to such engagement causing ‘overwhelming psychological distress’. This is defined as distress related to an enduring mental health condition or an intellectual or cognitive impairment.

Hi this was another one where I also struggle with how to put into words what would I do if I do not have the people to support me. In my situation that has meant I've become more alone, more shut in, recluse due to the overwhelming anxiety and panic attacks I face without the necessary support to help guide me with this part of life . yet putting that into words is incredibly difficult to explain and I have no idea if what I am putting will be looked on badly by an assessor. The very nature of how the questions on the review forms fundamentally frame how they are answered seems designed to try and mislead people and being unprepared for what the expected responses here should be will mean people wont score points where they should.
I was able to fill this activity out successfully to some degree through my initial PIP award and was able to argue it up eventually by taking to tribunal at my last review, yet the way the activity is presented on the AR1 form seems designed to confuse and attribute needing help or being able to score points only if in structured therapy.
perhaps I am wrong, but this activity is framed completely differently to all the other activitys and I can only think this is because of the ruling against DWP previously on this activity and they want to be able to find excuses not to award points to people going forward

Hi Krysuk
I was speaking to a claimant this week who had completed their pip review claim with the help of AI, I think they used a free version of Chatbot so could only do so much each day but they were impressed with the results, they just now have to wait and see.
