Requesting not to go into the job centre esa to uc migration

hi,

I haven’t yet started my form although I need to soon.

I want to be prepared for when they may request me to attend the job centre for an appointment,

I am esa support group and 95% housebound. (Both Physical and mental health issues). So will need a phone call or home visit. It’s possible someone could accompany me to an appointment if it can fit in with their work schedule, but a phone call (and less so but I think a home visit) would take less toll on my health because it does all have an impact.

Can you let me know what I will need to do and how you do it if they ask me to attend the job centre to request these alternatives?

Thank you

Hey mangof

They are trying to do the migrations over the phone. They seem to ask people into the job centre if they can't verify a person's identity online or over the telephone.

So I wouldn't worry about it. If you do get a request to go to a job centre, you ring the helpline and explain why you can't attend, and they will arrange a phone call or a home visit.

As soon as you click submit on your application form you have access to your journal. I wrote on mine straight away that due to my disability I would prefer to verify my identity through a biographical phone call rather than going to the jobcentre. They were fine with this and all went well

Thank you both. I will add something on to my journal when I can get to it.

I have a question about submitting my form. Somebody (a health professional I see) is helping me fill it in - a lot for emotional support as well as generally, but this is in her allotted times with me.

We have nearly finished the to do list. I am wondering if it is possible to complete the original to do list on one day with her, but then wait a couple of days before actually submitting the form. (Ie The next time I see her).

This would be so I can have enough time going over what I’ve put before submitting (there’s one thing I remember making a mistake on -I can’t change that currently, but as I understand it you can check and alter details before you submit? Is that correct?), and then submit, upload id etc when my support person is around.

Is it ok to do this, or as soon as i finished the last category will I have to press submit straight away? I’d like to wait two more days before I do.

Many thanks

Thank you

Was there a category in the journal you needed to opt for to put the message in?

Hi mangof

I have not done one for a while so things may have changed.

When UC first came out you could not save what you did before submitting it, you had to do it all in one go, they then brought in changes where you could amend the application before pressing the submit button.

I do not know if anything has changed, forum members will be able to let you know.
