Thanks again, Gary. Do you know if the contributions I am credited with whilst being in the ESA support group would qualify me for being moved on to NS-ESA (a contribution-based benefit)? If so, then I think this would probably explain things, but I haven't been able to find the answer to that question anywhere.

Please try not to worry. I'm in the same situation, although in my case both I and the lady from UC who phoned me were a bit confused as I was solely on Income Related ESA (I was put into the WRAG when I changed to ESA, so only a year of Contribution Based. Then years later I was assessed and put in the Support Group). From now on I'll be on UC and NS ESA and she said if it turns out they've made a mistake it'll be fine as NS ESA is deducted from UC anyway.
My 'interview' wasn't even 10 minutes long. It just consisted of being told how and when I'm going to be paid, and telling me that I have to report changes. Then at the end there was a chance to ask questions.

Hi TimesTable
It's impossible for us to answer your question. As Gary said in a previous post, a lot of peoople in the ESA support group have found themselves migrated to NS_ESA - that's all we can say.

Many thanks to you all. It may then be that the contributions I have been credited with have qualified me for NS-ESA. And it's good to know that I'm not by any means the only one in this particular boat! Thanks indeed Sorrel for taking the trouble to add your experiences and reassurance - much appreciated.
