Council Tax was created by fluffball
Hello,
Can anyone please advise? I am so worried about this potential doubling of council tax in G and H properties. We have a house which we bought in 1990, valued at £170,000. It is modest but it was built in the grounds of bigger houses. Over the years the council tax has gone up and up. We now pay £3,8000. I heard today that this type of property will have council tax doubled in next budget. We canot pay this. I am disabled and on PIP. My husband doesn't receive a full old age pension and I have full old age pension and have £5,000 small pension. We have around 5,000 in savings. Is there anything we can claim? We really are already finding things so hard, are there any benefits we could get or a reduction in this huge council tax bill? Many thanks.

Hi fluffball
It is unusual for financial details of the Budget to be released in advance of Budget day. Where did you get this information from?
