Sending Claim Forms In was created by WD
Hi,
Very confused here about how to get my claim form in on time.
I've just re d the instructions and they say allow ten days for delivery - thats not possible because they need to be in before that.
It specifically says not to use recorded or special delivery takes longer (longer tan ten days!)
Presumably because they refuse to sign or there is no individual name named.
How many way are there to post a letter - is special delivery the same as 24 hour delivery, or track and trace. Really worried that if I use the wrong one they won't get it.
Thanks for your help,
WD

Hi WD
Personally I would use Royal Mail Tracked 24. They take a photo not a signature though you can request a signature if you wish but there is no point as a photo is sufficient.

Thanks for your answer but still confused about one thing...is getting a photo almost as tricky as getting a signature...does a particular person have to get their photo taken with the letter in their hand and does it hold up proceedings ...has anyone done this please? And if so did they literally do it in 24 hours?
Thanks for your help,
WD

Hi WD
No they don't take a photo of a DWP post room assistant holding your item. The postie normally takes a photo of a tray of items in the post room. If it is lost after that then the DWP would accept responsibility.
You will have to ask when you go to the post office if it is 24 hours as it will depend on the time of day.
