dwp not giving enough notice was created by sera
Dear benefitsandwork
( I’m just having a moan, that’s all).
Just received a letter from the dwp on a Saturday telling me to compile quite a detailed list of things ready for a Tuesday morning home visit about me becoming my nephews appointee.
Why didn’t they notify me about this sooner ?? so I would have more time to get everything together such as details of all the family’s income and pensions, that’s one thing, but there’s a big list of things. I’m capable of being an appointee for my nephew but
I struggle with pathological brain fatigue, like there’s not enough space in my head, and my brain becomes difficult to work with. And I’m very disabled, that also doesn’t help.

Dear sera,
personally I don't see why you shouldn't have informed them that this was not reasonable given your own disabilities, and asked for a postp0nement. The worst they could say is no.
Having only just seen your message late Monday eve,, by the time it appears for you to see I hope it will have gone Ok and you can rest and recover ok.

Hi Sera
I hope your Appointee interview this morning was not too stressful. I have not known them ask for so much information.

Dear Denby
Thanks for replying I appreciate it.
I forgot to say that I had already postponed before. I did manage to get things done, and the list of things to get together wasn’t as bad or time consuming as I thought it would be. The person who came round from the DWP was fine.
Nothing off the list was asked for. I think it’s a standard form that they send out.
The DWP shouldn’t really be asking for a list of household incomes from this multi generational house including my nephews grandparents , his auntie (me), and his father. I’m just applying to be my nephews appointee, it’s not relevant. And then he or I will be having a face to face interview for his pip claim. Pip’s not a means tested benefit. But I got together the incomes as I wanted to show that we were playing ball.
