PIP Review Prep was created by wendy123
I am preparing in advance for my PIP review form arriving.
I am following your guides and being very thorough when answering each section as my neurological condition is complex and affects the activities in different ways.
I feel quite well versed after being on PIP since 2014 and this will be my 3rd review.
I am typing my replies for each question in each of the activities.
Chat gbt has helped me to organise my replies and I have added my own personalised detail as I prefer to be detailed and thorough.
The first question asks can you carry out this activity safely and without any difficulties?
There are only tick boxes for this question so I am a bit baffled about if we provide details and where to put the details. I have answered it for each of the activities as that explains how my conditions affect me in a particular activity. There doesn't seem to be an appropriate place in each of the activities to explain it in the prompting, aids and assistance questions.
I did consider adding the answers to this question to the last question in each of the activities where it asks why and when these needs began,
Please can you advise
The old AR1 was much easier to provide the detail needed. This new format is confusing and useless for reviews, especially when we are advised to be detailed and thorough
I hope this makes sense

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Wendy123
You don't have much room on the back of the form. Personally, I would just type up what I wanted to say on additional sheets, making sure that it was clear which question number I was referring to.

This is what I am doing already in typing my answers on additional sheets and will just write see page x of x.
I hadn't got my form yet and am preparing in advance.
I don't think I explained myself in my question to yourself.
What I am referring to is the tick box for the first question in each activity, which is " can you manage this activity safely and without any difficulty? "
Do we just tick the yes or no box or can I formulate an answer to that question in order to explain how my condition affects me carrying out the activity.
The guide is a bit unclear as it just tells us to answer the first 4 questions and then put wether needs have changed on the 5th question for each of the activities.

I am typing all of my answers for each of the activities onto separate sheets
What is confusing me is the first question under each activity " can you complete this activity safely and without any difficulty? " it is tick boxes only.
So I was wondering if I should provide a typed answer to it to explain my safety and difficulties due to my conditions. There doesn't seem to be a relevant place in each of the activities questions to incorporate this due to the effects of my conditions impacting me in different ways.
Hope this makes more sense.

Hi Kelz7683
You absolutely must make it clear which question you are answering on each page of your additional sheets. If you don't, there is a risk that you could lose out on points because the assessor will not tie it together for you. It's one of the biggest mistakes claimants make when filling out their forms, thinking that it should be obvious. Assessors have limited time, so if something isn't obvious, they won't look for information or try to work it out.

Hi Wendy123
I did understand your question, but perhaps I wasn't clear in my answer. It's entirely up to you. Tick yes or no (in your case, I assume it is no) and then add any further information you feel is relevant. I reiterate - you just have to make it clear what you are doing. The DWP is clear that claimants should include any information they consider relevant. How people do this is up to them. Some do with extra sheets, applying it to each question - some write a summary paragraph, so add a little information into the box near the end.
