of 24/7 Carers... and is told :

.... the carers whom I have met since taking up my position feel strongly that it is not only the financial benefits and supports that are important, as they also want the ability to get into work. At the moment, one in five carers are forced to quit work rather than to carry on as they would like. We will thus focus on making sure that these people get access to flexible working ...

What does she want for Carers - a 32/7 work schedule?

then a further reply about Carers includes :

We will do all that we can to remove any disincentives preventing people from going out to work.

Like, remove those being cared for?

It does appear that there actually is a total lack of understanding of disability and its various manifestations.

And an implicit insult to Carers who don't happen to have other, waged employment ... it's as though what the Government actually thinks (but tries to mask with ritual platitudes) is that such Carers don't do any "work" as it is.
