fit for work according to atos

I attended my medical over 4 weeks ago now. I sent in my sick note as usual and put a note with it as I had since my medical seen a consultant who is operating on my shoulder in a weeks time. I also went to my Doctor this week and my Knee was badly swollen and hip was painful. He sent me for x rays and am having a blood test next week. How can an atos examiner see you fit for work when own GP and top Orthopeadic Surgeon say I am not fit to work?? I was told this decision over the phone when I rang yesterday to tell them about my knees, trying to keep them up-to-date. I haven't had the letter this morning even, but so angry I wrote a letter and all the points why I should receive ESA and posted it today. I rely heavily on my daughter to help me, who is 16, and I went through a very traumatic divorce last year which I was just getting over. Now I've been made out to be a fraud and feel even more depressed and humiliated at telling people I have failed my medical. I am so upset and angry.

Unfortunately computer based assessments are just that. The doctor enters information or misinformation into the computer, the computer makes suggestions, and in some cases the doctor simply accepts what the computer says!

I think you should phone the DWP and ask for a copy of your ESA85 medical report and a GL24 appeal form.

Please don't feel humiliated or a fraud; they appear to be stopping everybody's benefits with their sub-standard assessments and nobody with any understanding of them takes them seriously.
