Thanks for your help re support letters. I have just checked and the CAB letter has asked for a reconsideration for me not an appeal and no i havent received a gl24 form as a matter of fact all i received was a DWP phone call and copy of medical from atos showing 6 points scored. Will my money be affected until consideration as DWP during phone call said it wont be! many thanks.

This is all very curious, if CAB have only requested a Reconsideration, then your money would be stopped from the date of the adverse decision, as Gordon says, so why have DWP told you that your money will stay the same?

Has in fact your money stayed the same since the adverse decision?.

I would request written verification of this, and would not accept anything said over the phone as proof.

IMO, there is far to much of this information given over the phone by the DWP.

Also, through info gained from other sources, it seems that it is tending to become a trend that advice services are recommending reconsiderations, and not appeals, I'm wondering what any motive for this might be?.

good luck

Steve & Dave

perhaps "lay it on a bit thick" was the wrong phrase to use? hence my use of quotation marks in my post.....i do find it difficult to talk to my doctor about my illness at the best of times and asking him for something in writing will not come easy for me...sorry if i gave the wrong impression earlier.

"pay particular attention to the descriptors" is a far better choice of phrase than the one i used and thanks for that....

Hi everyone! A big thank you to everyone who replied to my post but to be quite honest i am STILL totally confused! Some of the moderators have asked me, is it a reconsideration/appeal, youre money will stop etc etc and mixed answers. This is the situation: checked money is the same, letters of support in from CAB, docs, psychologist and self. Girl in DWP said to forward all this and she would look at it and would be making decision even though Atos only gave me 6 points. Atos got it totally wrong and CAB even pointed this out to DWP in their letter to them on my behalf. Nothing in post from DWP, just phone call asking me to send in all this further support, so to me, it looks like DWP are having another wee look at my claim for IB transfer to ESA and are possibly going to use common sense and increase my points. What happens now? Do i wait on their decision? How long will this take? Do i phone them? Will my money change? All these questions going round in my head! HELP!

Hi Joan

When you say your money is the same, are you still getting the same payments as you were on IB?

Sorry, should have added, I did mention on another post, that from info gathered, Advice Agencies did seem to be setting a trend in asking for reconsiderations, rather than appealing straight away.

Is this in anticipation of the Bill, is it being directed from above?

Hmm, interesting, of course I may be just getting carried away with myself.

I'll be appealing anyway first, if necessary.
