Hi,

It looks like ATOS have to generate an "ADD-ON" to the computer generated ESA85, in all WCA's after the 6/6/11.

It's an ESA85S, Personalised Summary Statement,"PSS" and is written along side the ESA85, and put in front of the DM.

So I suppose that's another form to (Play With) request.

Has any one had any dealings with this ESA85S, or seen one yet?.

See Link below :

According the that document the ADA will be required to explain where the recommendation conflicts with the claimant’s view of their condition.

I think that would take a good 20 pages!

*** tongue firmly in cheek ***

I'm not sure I see how this can work.

We already know that the ATOS HCPs are targetted with doing 10 medicals a day, including doing the reports.

If they now have to produce another detailed report, then the only way they can do this while maintaining their productivity is to reduce the time taken for a medical.

However, if the assessment time goes down, they'll have less time to listen to the claimant.

If there is less time for the claimant to explain their condition, the HCP won't be able to identify where there are conflicts.

Oh! now I get it

Thanks Gordon,

I Seeeeeeeeeeeee !!!,

Plus if it is a written report, rather than computer generated, one can only wonder as to the quality of the content.

Hi Bro58

It was one of Professor Malcolm Harrington's recommendations in his report on the WCA and it looks like it's only just been implemented.

It seems Prof Harrington's solution to the quality of computer generated medical reports is to ask the ADA to write a summary in their own words justifying their recommendation. The problem is that they are justifying something that usually doesn't make any sense!

On the positive side it could make the ADA pay more attention to the accuracy of the report but I think it's likely that the ADA's summary will be just as meaningless as the rest of the report!

Regards

Derek
