change in circumstances

Hello,Im new to forums so not sure if I am doing this correctly.
Please can you give me some advice,I have been recieving dla small amount both care and mobility for a number of years,the last time I appealed and was still given the low rates, this was about 3 years ago, I have since got considerably worse, and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am worried that they may stop it altogether even though I know, how bad I am. any advice please.

Although we can not give individual advice on the forum, due to lack of sight of case papers etc, do bear in mind that with DLA, it is awarded due to ones needs be they mobility and/or care. A diagnosis of any illness is only really of secondary importance.

There are guides to claiming DLA within the members area which examine these care/mobility needs.

However, before asking the DWP to look again at your claim, it would be worth obtaining some face to face help from a Welfare Rights Adviser/CAB etc, in order to go through your care/mobility needs in depth, and both establish the relative 'safety' of your current award and also whether your needs match the criteria for an increased award.

Also remember that with DLA Mobility, the lower award is generally given because one needs help and assistance outdoors in possibly unfamiliar places, actual walking ability is not taken into account, whist the higher rate mobility is more concerned with ones ability to walk and one needs to be classed as unable or virtually unable to walk generally in order to qualify.

Again a welfare rights adviser/CAB etc can go through this with you in depth.

Hi,Pete, thanks for that.I have been losing my balance and falling over/down for years now they didnt seem to take that into account before, as I always need my husband with me to hold his arm now so he sort of pulls me up when I go ,so I dont hit the ground, it happens in the house also constantly ,but this is only one thing ,but important, I need a lot of help from him, I now get a lot of breathing problems, and cant walk have to keep stopping, although ive had tests, ans still ongoing ,I think its all to do with fibromyalgia, but 3 times lately he has had to get a wheelchair to get me back to the car.plus the dreadful pain allover my body makes me feel I just cant take much more, he always has to get me in/out of bath wash my hair/back,as my arms dont lift far, one since my mastectomy,7 years ago and the other with the fibromyalgia. and I need help to get up at least 3 time through the night. but how do I prove that.its true ,I know extra money I could maybe have massage etc to help, any way thank you
