the ending of esa WRAG and not being fit to work was created by Karma
this is my first post and have read for like 3 hours all about ESA. Ive been plac,ed in the work related group, i think i should be in the support group and i dont think i have the strength to appeal. Ive read the faqs and havent seen this question answered ,if it is please point me in the right direction as it may come under a different heading that im not thinking of. When in a years time my wrag comes to an end, my condition has not improved infact got worse, im still not fit for work what happens? do they force you out anyway or put you on income related esa? or income support?
many thanks if this could be answered as it will help in whether i find the strength to appeal

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

At the end of the 365 days on contributary WRAG you will be assessed for income related ESA. This will depend on your household income and savings.

It's a very bizarre situation to be in. I have been put in the work-related activity group (just started appeal process - my advice, do it step-by-step as and when you have to, and follow the advice on this website), and have spoken with people at the DWP who have themselves stated that I am currently considered not well enough to work, but hopefully will be at a much later date, and who are really apologetic about the situation.
And yet I seem to have ended up in what, I imagine is a large group of people who happen to have an illness that has dared to last for longer than a year, happen to be married to someone who works over a relatively low number of hours, and are now having to find ways to manage on a monthly income that has had £400 slashed from it and seemingly no access to other financial aid. It's sad and a little bit frightening...
