support group was created by bisley
I am feeling both relieved and anxious. I have received a letter to say I am to receive contribution based ESA and that..."You have been placed in the support group because your illness or disability restricts the possibility of working. This means you do not have to take part in any work-related activity but can volunteer to see a personal adviser. There is more information about this included in this letter..."
It goes on to say that if I want to know more about this decision to get in touch within a month. I do not know what descriptors have been applied to me or when I am likely to be reassessed. I have seen posts where members have received scant information in reply to a request. Should I send a Subject Access Request? I would like to see the ESA form 85A medical report. I am unsure exactly what forms I should be requesting. I would like enough information so that I am prepared for the next re-assessment.
Thank you to everyone and especially the mods for your continuing help.

  			 				Hi dragon,

Well done on getting into the Support G?roup, I hope that you will be able to relax for a while now.

You can just ask for a copy of the ESA85a, or you can put in a Subject Access Request, it is entirely up to you.

Thanks Mrs H. What I need to know is what specific forms to ask for to give me information as to what descriptors have been applied to me and at to my prognosis so that I know when I am likely to be re-assessed. I see so many form numbers on here that I get confused.

The ESA85a should tell you which descriptors you were deemed to meet (although you will have to work out the actual points for yourself) and also give the 'prognosis' that would give you an idea when to expect reassessment.

Thanks Mrs H. I see that someone has said that had an award for 12 months. No where on my letter does it state the period of my award. I feel in limbo.

Unlike DLA, ESA is not awarded for a set period of time. Therefore the decision letter does not mention any time frame. The ESA85a will give a 'prognosis' which will suggest when t expect reassessment.
