IB to ESA support group!

Just to say a massive THANK YOU to the B&W website - I just got a call from the DSS (or whatever they are called these days) to say that I have been put into the ESA support group without a medical! I could cry I am so relieved! I could not have done it with out the help from this website!!! Thanks again!!

That is really good news !!!!, thanks for your kind comments.

You should receive a Decision Notice letter from the DWP confirming this. It will also include a breakdown of how much benefit you will be paid.

However, the letter will not tell you how long your SG award will last before you are reassessed.

To obtain this information, you should request copy of your ESA85A medical report, which should contain the recommended time before you are reassessed, (The Prognosis). It should also give you an idea of how and why you were placed into The SG, which may be helpful in any future reassessments.

You can request the above, over the phone by ringing the number on the Decision Notice letter when you receive it. We recommend that you back up any verbal request in writing.

There will definately be an ESA85A, and an LT54, there may be an ESA113, if one was sent to your G.P., and there may also be an : ESA72 Form

In case you have any problem obtaining the above forms, you can make a formal request using a SAR, which can be downloaded, filled in and printed off from this link :
