Appealing WRAG to SG, Confused was created by levelslass
I'm sure you've been asked this before but any tips would be helpful. Posting for first time.
Have ESA appeal on 17 July next Wednesday. My Incapacity Benefit has been transferred
across to ESA but because contribution based will cease October 2013 unless I can
get into support group.

Decision maker agrees I cannot work long-term but still been placed in WRAG with limited capability to work.

Very confused

Please try not to tag your posts onto to other members topics, especially where the subject is completely different, it just causes confusion :)

The Government have created the illusion that the WRAG is for claimants who quickly will be able to return to work with "a little help", whilst this may be the case for some, the reality for many is that they could remain in the WRAG for years, so the phrase "in the long term" simply means that your are not expected to get any better for a couple of years, at the very least. It does not have any relevance for the Support Group.

Entry to the Support Group is by a claimant meeting the criteria, see

Qualifying for the Support Group

You have two options;

If you believe that you met the criteria for the Support Group when you were transferred to ESA then you can make a late appeal against the Decision. I will post links about this later in the post.

If you did not meet the criteria when you were last assessed, but now do because your condition has worsened or you have a new condition, then you can ask to be re-assessed on this basis, just write a letter to your local DWP office asking for this to be done.

In either case
