IB to ESA without a medical was created by Bodnar
Hi.
Just to let you know that I have received the notification that I will be transferred from IB to ESA without a medical. The letter from the DWP came last Friday which of all days was my birthday! I used your guides and followed it down to the last detail. Getting medical backup and letters of support,I would have sent a blood and urine sample if I thought it would help, anything so wouldn`t have to go through that dreaded ATOS medical! Now, But, now I have `come down` and re-read the letter. I am in WRAG group. Given the medical support I have given I think that I should be in a support group. But I am not clear on how the system works. My partner works full time but is a seasonal agency worker. He may be laid off in the next two weeks and won`t be called back till next March. How would that affect my claim if I tried for being placed in a support group. I am also on DLA as well.

Firstly, congratulations on being awarded ESA without a medical! Despite what some people seem to believe, being placed in the WRAG is acceptance that you are not well enough to work.
If you wish to appeal, your partner's work status would not make any difference. It would only be an issue if you were being assessed for income-related benefit.
You probably know that you have 1 month to submit your appeal, it is worth getting hold of the paperwork associated with your claim first.
ESA medical – what forms to ask for
How long do I have to appeal?
How to submit an appeal
Qualifying for the Support Group
Is there any risk in challenging a decision?
Do I have to attend WFIs while appealing?
If you have any further queries, please reply to this thread
