Had the dreaded brown envelope drop through the door last December.
Originally had to attend an assessment centre but got a home visit from Capita in March, after a GP's letter.
I had a lovely, sympathetic assessor who really listened to my carer and I and did not ask me to do anything uncomfortable.
I just received a letter from the DWP stating that I have been awarded enhanced Care and Mobility until 2026 (originally had indefinite DLA at same rates).

I cannot thank this website and your guides and contributors enough, I know your guides helped me no end!

My life has been on hold for the last four months....not one night's good sleep and worried sick every day wondering what the post might bring.
I am sure the whole process makes many people more ill than they were before. IDS has a lot to answer for....he just stole four months of my life which is no picnic anyway, without his cruelty!

My best wishes to all here.
