Hi all at Benefit and Work
Your help and support has been invaluable, After reading all the members only guides and following all the fantastic advice my PIP and ESA forms were sent in.
After a THREE month wait I was sent for a PIP medical, which I have to admit wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. I took my Daughter with me and as I was particularly breathing badly that day the person asked my Daughter to answer most of the questions as to not put me under any further stress.
She let us go after around 15 mins and sat with me till my Daughter brought the car to the door.
Last week the dreaded brown envelopes arrived and with much trepidation I opened them.
I have been awarded PIP both Mobility and Daily Living at the enhanced rate for 10yrs and ESA on the support group category too,
Many many thanks again
Good luck to all others who are going through this process and keep up the fantastic work.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi soconfused,
That is great news! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words about B+W
I am glad that the assessor treated you with respect - and that you won't have to worry about this again for a long time.

Well done.
How long is the ESA award for ??
Did you sent of 2 SAR's to get the information on how and why you were placed in PIP Enhanced Care/Mobility and the same for the ESA?
With the results back from both the 2 SAR's you are ready for the next round when they send it, altho ages b4, tis better to be in the know than not.

Hi,
I have not sent off anything so far! I was just so pleased to be through this process.
There is no end date for the ESA on the letter, the payment date ends in NOVEMBER but I cant see how I was awarded a 10yr enhanced PIP award and a 6 month ESA support group one!
Does that make any sense HA
I am reluctant to phone them, its way to stressful.

ESA awards are indefinite with regular reassessment, if you phone the DWP they can tell you when you are likely to receive a new ESA50.

I expect that the (poor and confusing) justification for the DWP's statement that your ESA runs until November is this- they will be awarding you a £10 Xmas bonus early in December. After that one-off bigger payment, your ESA will revert to its usual level.
