DLA to PIP Appeal Success was created by glennamy
I have just appeared before a tribunal after being reassessed at 0pts for both mobility & carers allowance for my transfer to PIP from DLA 6 months ago.
The courts decision was enhanced rate mobility & standard rate care, this by the way was what I was on for DLA, the award is for 3 years - fantastic news!
The negative, I was informed by the clerk of the court that the DWP can now review/reassess your award within one year of it ending (previously this was 3 months) so in theory they have shortened any award that you get by a year (in my case to 2 years) and you can expect to go through the whole process again if they're still ignoring your facts/evidence!
I would like to say to anyone who is reassessed and then awarded 0 points, make sure you appeal, the court appearance is not as intimidating as you think it will be, they put you at ease, they are not the DWP/ATOS, they actually look at the evidence, and unlike the DWP base their decision on the facts.
I would like to thank Benefits & Work for your informative guides and to the Forum Admins who give amazing advice during the stressful times, it is much appreciated.

Most appeals are 45-60 minutes. The panel will ask you questions but you will be given a chance to raise any issues that you feel have not been addressed at the end of the hearing.
