"..the following was found to apply from Schedule 3 of the ESA Regulations 2008 : 1 (b) ..
Like so many subscribers, i would wish to tender a very warm and super-sincere 'thank you' to this site, its staff and moderators, for all your help and information.
It has been 'an experience' with amazing shenanigans taking place - the DWP have stonewalled Subject Access Rights request (x3) - all sent by Special Delivery & fax - and even a formal complaint to the head of the DWP in accordance with their Charter has also been ignored.
Further, at the time of the revelation of the apparent invalidity of the 'conversion letter', the date for my appeal was suddenly brought forward three times, each time i asked for it to be reinstated to its original time slot, before the conversion issue even came to my attention - as it happened, i had the original letter, and i asked the Tribunal to consider this as a 'preliminary issue' if necessary - they made no ruling given the medical evidence in support.
Having searched the General Medical Council register, it appears the doctor (small 'd') 'health professional' who submitted the report, got his degree from an Indian distance learning Uni ! He was not registered as a GP or specialist in the UK.
Many, many thanks ...indeedee !

All HCPs carrying out assessments for ATOS are supposed to be registered with the relevant regulatory body in the UK. In your position, I think I would be complaining to ATOS, DWP and my MP about the apparant non-registration of the person who saw you!
Complaining to ATOS Healthcare
Complaining to the DWP
Contacting your MP

We (disabled spouse and carer spouse) are struggling to identify the qualifications of our ATOS nurse: her name, but no other identification, is on the ESA report she wrote, but she's not the only nurse of that name on the NMC register. A letter to ATOS just asking for her qualifications, not anything more, on the grounds that it's impossible to say which nurse-with-her-name she is from the NMC register, led to a reply from ATOS telling us to write to the DWP's FOI division in London- as if this is a matter to be divulged to the whole world! Too exhausted to write instead for a Subject Access/Data request. ATOS's response seems to be counter to NMC (Nursing&Midwifery Council) rules - any nurse performing a registered nursing duty to a person, if asked, must tell that person who she is, including her registration number.
If one searches "ATOS" on the NMC website, there are three hits. One is a case of a nurse in the area of fitness to practice (the details are irrelevant, but in the public domain). It is concluded that, for the time being, she may not work as a nurse in the NHS. But she may work for ATOS....

Bearer wrote: What great news -in the end! To Mrs Hurtyback- I think the OP found the ATOS HCP on the GMC's register, i.e. he is a registered medical professional, a "doctor". But he was not on the GMC's GP register, nor on the GMC's specialist register of doctors allowed to hold consultant posts. And he doesn't have to be.

Hi B,
Questions have been asked on several occasions regarding this on The MSE thread "Ask ATOS......", here :
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4382647
This was one of the responses that a poster received from ATOS :
"“Thank you for your email. I can confirm that all health care professional doctors will provide their GMC number on request. However if you are assessed by a Nurse, they are not obliged to provide their registration number, this is in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council guidelines. However you can request a Nurse's registration details via Customer Relations once the assessment has been completed.”
