radhika wrote: HI,

Firstly, I would like to say that I am really pleased for all of you who have been told that your reassessment dates have moved.
Can anyone please confirm if they were told this by the call centre staff or from someone actually from DWP, as I would like to call for my husband who was due to be reassessed in July 2015, but hasn't received anything from DWP.

Regards
Radhika

Hi R,

Yes, the Call Centre staff can tell you, after you, or someone else on your behalf answers a few security questions :

THE ESA PHONE NUMBER DWP : 0345 608 8545 Press Option 3 for ESA. (Open 8AM-6PM. Mon-Fri.)

francis1969 wrote: Hi All, Like many here I was first migrated and placed in SG in June/July 2012. Obviously my 3 year period has passed and received nothing regarding reassessment, but still cannot bring myself or even ask my partner to make call for me.

Is it now likely, bearing in mind above dates that my, and other claimants in same boat, reassessment date has also been deferred?

Many thanks.

Hi f1969,

We have no idea how likely it is that your reassessment has been deferred, how would we know that ? !!

We have said this time and time again but you really have nothing to be afraid of in phoning the ESA Call Centre.

These Call Responders do not have the executive power to instigate a reassessment any earlier than the recommended date that is on your file.

Referrals and re-referrals to Maximus are dealt with by The WCA Team based in the Benefits Office/Centre that administers your ESA.

After you have answered a couple of security questions, you simply have to ask "Can you please tell me the recommended date for my next reassessment ?"

The Call Responder will look on-screen at your ESA file and tell you the recommended date that they see.

End of conversation !!

what do we think it means if they have no date on my account?

I have spoken to maximus (or whatever they are called) and they said they have had no contact regarding my situation from the DWP.

the DWP says I have no date listed. I was due to be re assessed in march I think.

Hi a,

I have no idea !

An administration error maybe ?

We have had one other member who told us that they rang ESA and were told the same a few months ago.

We have not heard back from the member since.

Late/unknown re assessment dates are a bug bear.

Some get an assessment within the given time scale and others well who knows when they will be re assessed.
Some are over 2 yrs from the re assessment date.

In a way this is grossly unfair for those that do get their re assessment within the time scale i.e ' you will be re assessed in 205 June', and a new ESA50 form drops on the mat in June.

I wish the DWP/Maximus or whoever would simply turn around and state all re assessments will have a 1 or 2 yr delay, thus being a bit fairer on one and all.

Its not fair that some can be left for a few yrs still obtaining ESA, who might well not be entitled to it, whereas others who get the dreaded form on the mat have to fight to still obtain ESA, who should be getting it without an aurgument/appeal etc.

So far it seems the problems are in certain areas, however that does not always follow.

It certainly annoys me that the DWP/Maximus etc can get away with their shoddiness, deliberate obtuseness along with pretty poor work ethics for as long as they do.

It is about time Disability groups or whoever bring this poignant point to the MP's and powers that be, to try and sort this infringment of disabily rights.
