Thsnks Steve,
I have taken your advise & sent copies of the doctors report to DWP & Tribunal Service. Will now just go back to waiting, I think that is something we are all expert in!!!

Thanks again

Good evening to everyone.
I have still not received an appeal date for my DLA yet but wondered if anyone knows what the success percentage is for people who appeal the DWP's decision to refuse to renew their DLA?. Also do I need to tell the tribunal service and/or DWP that I have changed my name as I got married today?. Many thanks,
melady

Hi Melady

Congratulations on getting married.

You certainly need to inform the DWP as it is a change in circumstances. I would suggest that you also phone Tribunals Service and inform a Clerk as your name is likely to change on all the documents.

Good luck

Derek

Thank you for your messages.
It was a very quiet occasion with just us and 2 witnesses. The registrar was great and she let me sit down throughout.
We have been together for many years and Roy is marvellous at helping me with my health problems.

Thanks again for your kind messages.

I have been receiving HRM & LRC for the last six years as I am suffering from ME & chronic fybromyalgia. I am in chronic severe pain , Housebound and often unable to get out of bed for weeks on end.My award is due to expire next month and I received the new short 4 page version of the DLA form. Unfortunately I filled it in before I FOUND THIS SITE. I was not worried as the last 2 renewals I had no problems with but not this time. Silly me, after they received a report from my doctor & I had the Atos medical examination at home in the bedroom with me in bed they told me I didnt qualify for anything and the previous decisions were wrong.WHAT!!!! I would just like to say that after reading other peoples stories on the forum I realised I was not alone I didnt feel quite so suicidal. I have told them I want to appeal and will use your suggestions as I try to navigate through the process.thanks, Elaine

:) Interesting what you can take from whats happened is the dr does not think you should have been in bed but at work... the guys an idiot IMO but think why and how did he come to that conculsion after 9 years of training ? you did not have your case supported with decent evidance and IMO you got a dr not symperthetic to your problems he should have looked at your problems not allow his narrow mind ...which could have been of them drs not giving much thought to your problems he might have even thought your making it up

your not helped when places like wiki have comments on your problems under
Malingering (have a look)

keep a diary or better still get someone else to keep it for you ... dont suffer your pain keep on at your gp to send you to a pain clinic

write a letter with details of your problemscall it a statement of facts and it will go in your notes
once every three months write a letter to your gp

all my problems are main stream and with a list of drs most in whos who ....2 tell the dwp whats what... I have never had much of a problem with IB or dla but I still send a statement once a year.....dont give up ;)
