Dear Fiona, I'm not a mod and do not know any answers to your questions. I just want to add, Oh My Goodness! about the way that assessor treated you.
I can only offer a guess, she saw your date of birth and wasn't bothering with everything else as whatever the outcome it will be for such a short period before you transition to pension, assuming you have done your pension claim. [Whatever you do don't be late with that, my sister caused Soo much needless work because with her Mh she was late and her HB, CTB etc all stopped and had to be re-started...]

Thanks for your response. It would look like you are right, there is a 3 month waiting period for the additional award.

I have read your original post, I don't know from your post if you were on ESA and in the support group prior to claiming UC.
There is not enough information to give you accurate advice. I would advise you to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation who will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration; You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk .
Any accurate advice given to you would depend as to what benefits you were on before you applied for UC, this would include as to whether or not there was a 'relevant period'. What this means is when you first apply for UC and apply for WCA there is usually a 13 week assessment period but it would depend on your circumstances.
