I believe you can now appeal any attempt by them to do a phone assessment. But if they do still refuse a paper based assessment and do a phone one, insist they record it. This is your legal right and should be requested from the assessment provider immediately you are given an appointment. Having our daughter's last face to face recorded allowed us to prove they did not do the physical exam the assessor wrote about! I hope you feel a tiny bit better knowing you are not the only person they have done it to, but it is possible to overcome the lies.
