Blue Badge - PIP was created by MrFibro
Hi to all,

I have received an email from my blue badge department / council notifying me that my current valid blue badge will run out in feb 2022, therefore I will need to re-new the badge again.

Problem is this !!!!!

My PIP renewal was sent back last July and uptil now i have had no reply back from the PIP/ DWP, as in regards to my renewals decision. They have all my forms evidence etc.

How can i renew my blue badge ifi have no idea when DWP/PIP will give me my decision ???

Last 2 times i have paid for my blue badge and I've been short changed by my council with the length of the blue badge's validation dates.

Can anyone please help me, give me some advise on how i should proceed with my council and renewing my blue badge.

Ps i keep getting this im not a robot capture thingy coming up all the time?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

There is no need for your council to have the PIP decision as part of your blue badge application.

There are many people with a blue badge who are on no benefits at all.

I think the simplest thing for you is to send in the evidence you supplied to your PIP review and any other evidence of your disability you may have received later with your application form to the council.

I hope this helps

Regards
Pete

Hi, the Recaptcha'not a robot' is a sadly necessary safeguard for the site, we just have to live with it, it is not personal,
best wishes

Hi Mr Fibro,

As a Blue Badge holder, I can speak through experince of the system.

It isn't necessarily a condition that you have you have to be in receipt of the 'moving around section' of PIP with adequate points to qualify for a Blue Badge.

If I were you, I would firstly get on the phone ASAP to see if a decision has been made re your case. If the answer is no, I would get straight to my MP and tell them your story as a decision is way overdue.

In the worse case scenario, in other words, if you don't qualify automatically, then ring your council and arrange a face to face assessment and chuck a bundle of your supporting evidence in front of them.

I really don't think you will have a problem: might be hassle but obviously your case is solid.

I will wish you good luck, but I can't see you needing it.

Regards,

Phrank.

Hi MrFibro
Having recently answered several blue badge posts I found this this link which maybe helpful.
www.gov.uk/government/publications/blue-...lly-get-a-blue-badge
Whilst people who get PIP mobility can qualify automatically, many other people can still get a blue badge but just have to complete the whole long form instead of just ticking the 'I have PIP box"!
Good luck.

Hi Pete,

thanks for your reply. Lady at my local councils blue badge dept, said unless i have pip mobility, which i have, i wont get a blue badge.

I checked well filled out the non pip 3 year badge application online. But i will let the application get turned down, as its too stressful for me to get the tons of evidence i need to submit to them.

It's worse than the pip form, there's a lot of supporting evidence i have for my pip renewal in total around 120 pages of docs, scan, gp's - specialists diagnosis letter all sorts of evidence. And a lot of the information evidence has nothing to do with walking.

and i feel the council does not need to know about such things as incontinence and other illnesses i have as they are not relevant.

So my plan is to have the council online application either turned down or i phone up and cancel it if i can. then just wait til i get my pip decision (when i dont know, been waiting nigh on 8 months now) then just re-apply for blue badge under pip.

regards.
