Hi Phrank,

thanks for your reply. (If I were you, I would firstly get on the phone ASAP to see if a decision has been made re your case. If the answer is no, I would get straight to my MP and tell them your story as a decision is way overdue.)

I phoned up dwp/pip department, and asked lady call handler what the status was with my pip renewal, which had been sent in July last, with tons of evidence etc. and was received by their department as i had send all via royal mail signed for, and it had been received.

She said that there's still had not been a decision made on my pip renewal.

I said why not its been ages by now normally pip assessors are on the ball gagging to assess claimants.

She said she doesnt know all she could see was the pip date of expiry ..end of feb 2022.

I then asked her, as her reply made me feel worried that my pip may just stop by no fault of my own, but rather the dwp/pip. I said that to her, she replied........

ermmm i think it may continue the day after it expires and it will be ongoing ??
and she also said that it may be the system will kick in a day earlier before my pip expiry date and process the claim so it doesnt close on the due end date, end of feb !

But this has now all left me feeling a bit worried, what given the way the govt, and dwp have been pulling master strokes on claimants and joe public. sort of makes me think they will purposely close my award of pip through their fault not mine.

I have absolute zero faith in this goverment, and less faith in the dwp.

I asked about sending me to my home a letter of conformation stating i get pip both rates standard, and i need comformation stating this and my pip is ongoing so i can give info to council for a blue badge renewal.

pip lady call handler said no !!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant do that,, i asked why ?

she said coz your pip renewal has not yet had a decision made on it.

therefore i can only send you the pip mobility scores. i said the council are not interested in that, they need an update on my pip status thats all its so simply.

pip call handler said do you want the scores or not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She came across rather unempathetic, and lacked knowledge and understanding.

This whole sheebang seems rather dodgy to me, or am i getting paranoid lol.

i'll give pip a ring mid feb see what the status is then, if no dice, i will have to try to get my MP involved ( how does one get an appointment to see their P ????? )

Never done it before i'm clueless, finally should i say to pip I'm getting my MP onto them or would that cause me grief.

regards.

Hi MrFibro

Sorry to hear the problem you are having in getting a blue badge, I know from our local authority we had a telephone assessment before being awarded a blue badge as we did not have the 'right' mobility component of PIP. The telephone assessment lasted 10 mins at the most.

You can find your MP by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will come up with the name of your MP and their contact details; phone number and email address

Hi Mr Fibro,

It sounds like you got the wrong call handler when you phoned the PIP helpline.

I've worked in a few call centres and can say that the level of knowledge in these awful places varies considerably - from the haven't-a-clue-type, the smart arses, the unsympathetic and THEN the ones who know their job.

When I have ever phoned, I always ring back immediately, several times if necessary, until I get a satisfactory answer.

It's something to do when you have a spare afternoon and - if you persist - can end up being more informative and worthwhile than daytime television.

All the best,

Regards,

Phrank.
