Firstly many thanks for your valued responses. Gary as I have read on previous posts very thorough and expert advice on where and what to do next, LL26 an excellent piece of evidence and probably something, being a retired OT myself I should have considered.
I know what should happen what I should do next but can I be completely honest I’m finding it all so, so exasperating I’m not sure I can find the energy and effort to go for appeal.
While I do totally agree Denby a) listen to Gary’s advice and b) don’t let them get away with it as the days have gone on my resolve to ‘fight’ this have diminished tremendously.
I find that it just takes over my life and it can be all I think about and it’s not making for a happy existence.
I realise I can’t ask for opinions, receive responses giving the great advice and support that you have and then come back with thank you but …..
I do take it on board and I know I should not let them get away with it.
God I was always so pro active in all aspects of my life and work and I really hate feeling this despondent and stressed I seriously need to get a grip.

Hi Bridget,
You probably don't like going to the dentist. That nervous wait in the waiting room, with the ominous sound of drilling coming from behind the other door. You've already had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment.But...the toothache ain't going away. You know that once the dentist has worked his magic it'll be great. But it isn't pleasant the needles, the drilling etc. It has to be done.
PIP claims are like visits to the dentist, horrible nasty but needs to be done, and you will feel so much better later.
Please please keep at it.
Don't give up!
LL26

Hi Bridget, I totally get where you are coming from. I had a review and was given the same award when I thought I should have the enhanced mobility award. After a lot of soul searching I decided not to appeal as it wasn't worth what it was doing to my physical and mental health. It is a big decision and a very personal one and based on many factors.

If you can manage without the money and are happier to leave it then don't feel obligated to put yourself under pressure about it. The appeals process can be long and drawn out so make the decision that is right for you.

If you decide to go ahead there will be lots of support on here from mods and members.
All good wishes

Hi Bridget, there are a couple of things you could try. Subject always to your pharmacist's approval, take some zinc supplements as these may help your mood and resolve, also B-group vitamins noted for remedying insufficient nervous energy [Yeast extract spreads are a good food source of them].
And ref the claim, there is always
disabilityrights.org.uk
which is a not -for profit assistance organisation. They were recommended by another poster a good while ago and can be trusted, according to an exceptionally well informed friend who phoned to check them out at that time.
Hope these tips offer a glimmer of light,
Denby
