Warm Home Discount was created by Tuliptrees
Is it correct that the Warm Home Discount is to be stopped for those on DLA, PIP and AA?

Hi Tuliptrees
I am not aware of WHD stopping for claimants in receipt of DLA, PIP and AA.
www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme
I was at a meeting yesterday with the Energy Regulator and informed WHD will be increased to £160, at no time during the meeting was it mentioned the scheme would not be eligible to claimants in receipt of DLA, PIP and AA, I believe that would be classed a discrimination.

Morning. I read that article too. Every energy supplier has their own criteria. I would contact them to check [they themselves may not know yet, so maybe check periodically].
I get it because I am in ESA(Support) with PIP being the second reason; I too am concerned, but hope I will be ok.
* I ‘sign up’ for reminders for when to apply for the next year*. I am with Octopus.

Hi all,
I always reapply each year for WHD. I was previously in receipt of IR ESA until I reached State Pension age a little while ago.
I think I am right in saying that this also entitles you to the discount as long as any private pension doesn't push you over the threshold, whater that may be - but a friend of mine is in this postion and she has always qualified in the past.
She has one Private Pension plus her State Pension and is not in receipt of any benefits.
I will be applying again when the time comes and hope that nothing has changed.
Regards,
Phrank.

Hi phrank
The qualifying benefit is usually Pension Credit but some utility companies also take into account other means tested benefits such as IS, IR ESA and UC.
