Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi phrank
You usually have to apply July /Aug time, Utility companies that offer the scheme only have a finite pot of money, when it's gone it's gone.
You have to get the timing right and quite often be in receipt of a qualifying benefit.

Hi lesley
Eligibility
There are 2 ways to qualify for the Warm Home Discount Scheme:
you get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit - known as the ‘core group’
you’re on a low income and meet your energy supplier’s criteria for the scheme - known as the ‘broader group’
How you apply for the Warm Home Discount Scheme depends on how you qualify for the discount. www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme

Hi Lesley, I think the criteria is a means tested benefit such as Pension Credit, so you should be ok.

Hi there
I think there will be a change this year, whereby anyone in who has PIP/AA will be excluded. So, if for example you have a means tested benefit, and PIP as well, you will no longer be eligible.
I believe the premise is that PIP/AA is designed to help you with extra energy costs incurred.
So the original post would be correct, and it will no longer be possible to have the WHD

Hi. This is an aside rather than anything else… Do you think [their rationale] is that ‘everyone’ is getting a £150 Council Tax ‘rebate’ so they don’t want us crips getting it twice????
I get C.Tax paid for (C.Tax benefit) so don’t know if I’ll actually get the £150 rebate. Me missing out on both would be the usual Tory policy…… still waiting for my £20 Uplift (pigs flying past…..)
