Hi lesley

The link you sent in was a consultation document looking at the warm home discount scheme

Not all utility companies offer WHD; www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme.

I have been reading about this news story for about 2 weeks now, not sure if it's been officially confirmed but it's been published in quite a few news sources such as this one

Hello Gary

More and more media is reporting on this and SCOPE has allegedly condemned it.

Disability charity Scope condemned the "shocking" move, reports The Mirror.

The government is set to announce this week that it is raising Warm Home Discount payments from £140 to £150, and expanding the pool of people able to claim it by 780,000.

But it will exclude around 210,000 people on DLA, PIP and AA from getting these payments, The Mirror understands.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply.

My friend isn't in receipt of any benefits other than a private pension and her state pension and has received WHD for at least the last seven years.

I seem to remember applying for it and being asked if I had an income of less than around 14K. ( I'm not sure if this is exact but it is somewhere near).

We ard both with British Gas.

I might as well put in for claim, I'm only receiving PIP plus my state pension and private one and no means tested benefits, but the worst case scenario is they say no.

Regards,

Phrank.

Not sure that I understand, so if you get DLA\AA plus you are in receipt of Pension Credit Guarantee, then you qualify.
If you get DLA/AA and not in receipt of Pension Credit Guarantee then you won't qualify?
A bit frightening for us all. Whatever next will this cruel government hit us with?
