Hi all,
I had a phonecall with a PIP assessor this week regarding the MR that I submitted. They asked me more questions about my diagnosis of Aspergers and my sight condition which means on bad days I have difficulty reading. She stated that I had been awarded the lower rate for mobility but had not been awarded the daily living part as yet.
I think that it is strange that I could be awarded mobility without the standard award. Is this common? It doesn't make sense to me that they 'believe' that my disability makes it difficult to travel, but do not believe the impact on my day to day life.

Hi Mike,
What you describe does sound odd, unless what DWP meant is that they are still wondering about Daily Living?
However if you regularly read posts on this site, you will know that many DWP decisions make little sense!
Presumably you haven't yet had the MR decision notice. Wait got that to arrive. Ask for a copy of the assessment report (PA4) if you had sn assessment and haven't already obtained the report.
If you don't get any Daily Living points or insufficient points then you will need to consider appealing to the tribunal. You need to fill out SSCS1 form, which can be done online.
Clearly if DWP have accepted your health problems comprise mobility points and not daily living then as you point out this suggests inconsistency and can certainly be remarked upon in the SSCS1 firm under the Grounds of Appeal!
