Hello Lesley

I believe that safeguarding measures still remain and can be applied in the case of a vulnerable person, as Pete mentioned. My nephew, who has a serious mental illness, has had his housing benefit ring fenced and safeguarded indefinitely following an application to his local council by his appointee. I can say that it has been a huge relief to his family to know that despite a somewhat hectic life, he at least has a roof over his head.

Perhaps there might be someone who could help you approach your local council to enquire if it would be possible for you to be considered for this Lesley? Best wishes Sue
