I have a temporary licence as I have bipolar mood disorder. My last 2 licences were for 3 years. My most recent one was granted for 13 months, to the same time my PIP award runs out. I don't think it can be coincidental as 13 months is just such a bizarre length of time; a year I could understand. Does anyone know if DVLA contact DWP or vice versa? My state of health is the same as it has been.
I know that DWP do contact the DVLA sometimes to inform them that a claimant has a medical condition that, in their view, makes the claimant unfit to drive. I'm not sure that the DVLA would initiate contact with the DWP - they are far more likely to be talking to GPs about a person's medical record.
