PIP - call from DWP about my appeal was created by purifiedflux
Dear Community Memebrers,

I would like to seek some advice on the following matter.

I have recently received a text message (after logging my appeal months ago) saying that DWP would like to speak about my appeal. Most likely they want to settle this and lapse the appeal.

It happened to me before so I know exactly what their intentions are.

As the case has been logged already, please could you advise if I should simply ignore them as I am very stressed to even speak to them on the phone.

In other words, what would happen if I completely ignored them from a legal perspective? Would the court proceed with my appeal regardless as they have already made an order to DWP to submit their evidence?

Thank you so much for your help.

I would not ignore the text, someone could phone on your behalf although you will still need to answer the security questions and authorise the person to speak on your behalf to the DWP.

But, to answer your question you have four options.

1. Ignore the DWP text, you appeal should continue onto a hearing.

2. Contact the DWP and accept the offer if you are happy with it, your appeal will be lapsed.

3. Accept the offer and request a new appeal once the revised award has commenced payment.

4. Contact the DWP and reject the offer if you are unhappy with it and continue on to appeal.
