Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi karenh
It depends on what you mean by sick pay, do you mean a company sick pay, statutory sick pay or NS ESA.
I saw a client last week whose Dr had given them an indefinite 'fit note' due to their condition which will never get better and will deteriorate over time, they were placed in the support group on NS ESA.

Thank you for reply Gary I have sick note atm and have had for over a year a sick note but the new one given to me is indefinite.
Can your employers not pay you ssp because the drs are saying you will not go work for the foreseeable they know i’m sick and have been trying to work the 3 days I have already dropped from full time but can’t carry on any more i have applied ESA 3/10/22 not heard anything so rang them and advised they will contact me to fill forms and that in. i’m in a catch 22 i can’t walk out of the job but wanted to get benefits in place before i go
thanks

Hi karenh
I cannot give you accurate advice as I do not have all your details, such as do you have a partner, if you do, do they work, do you have children etc etc.
You need to go to your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
