Talking, listening and understanding was created by Kittykatz
I have problems with this activity but not all the time and it really fluctuates depending on the day or a period of ill health. I can become overwhelmed, fatigued and tired by the end of the day which makes it difficult for me to converse with people and speak to them as I would earlier in the day. I can become breathless which makes it hard to talk other than short periods of time. I can't explain things to customers so they understand as my colleagues can or as I could earlier in the day. I can also become triggered by certain things which can cause me to become upset, I can struggle to stop crying and can't speak or ask for help as I am so overwhelmed. I work part time, and these are the issues I have at work, but I also won't leave my house later in the afternoon as I know I have these problems around people. I know these overlaps with mixing with other a bit.

I can also at times disassociate but this is much more of a problem during a period of ill health. I was very depressed earlier this year which caused constant rumination, panic attacks, I was breathless a lot I could barely speak or able to say what I wanted. I can zone out during these times which means I am not taking in information and do not understand what others are saying to me. I am reliving traumatic experiences. Therefore, I cannot respond or ask them to repeat. I work with good colleagues and often there is someone to help if I need it but this does not happen all the time. I have also had a lot of time off work due to these problems.

Sorry, this is so long but I wanted to explain my problems to ask if this fits for this descriptor?

Hi Kittykatz,

Yes I believe all these issues relate to this descriptor.

The more you can explain the better. Just remember you should talk about your worst days and remember most people don’t have good days just less worse.

If you can get your friends, colleagues and/or professional contacts to write letters of support that will also help.

Do explain how these issues affect your daily life not just the issues themselves.

I hope this helps.

Regards
Pete
