Have just had quick check on GOV.UK and these are the only listed, qualifying benefits. PIP is definitely not on the list.

The ‘Guarantee Credit’ part of Pension Credit
The ‘Savings Credit’ part of Pension Credit
Universal Credit
Working Tax Credit
Child Tax Credit
Income Support
Housing Benefit
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance

To elaborate further on my previous comment.

The second requirement was that the claimant, in addition to having a means tested benefit also need to be in receipt of a Disability Premium

Receipt of the Disability Premium was enabled by benefits such as DLA MRC or HRC and a PIP DL award.

So, PIP was one of the benefits required for the Warm Home Discount scheme but it was never the case that a PIP award on its own could qualify someone.

To repeat, the removal of the second requirement actually opens up the scheme to a wider audience.

Having a slightly dim day, along with the weather, please can you advise, since when has the WHD been paid to the recipients of PIP with Daily Living Rate and which of the DL rates qualify for the payment please?

There is a formula based on size and age of the property you live in. You are more likely to get the WHD if you live in an older, larger property. With much digging online you will find an Annex with 300+ types of property which are either classed as ‘high energy cost’ or ‘low energy cost’.

Some pensioners get it if they are in Core Group 1.
You need to be in receipt of a means tested benefit to be eligible for Core Group 2.

I'm not sure who you are replying to but I'll assume it was me.

PIP (on its own) never enabled the payment of the WHD.

However, a PIP DL award (it doesn't matter which level) does enable the payment of a Disability benefit with some legacy means-tested benefits and the payment of the Disability Premium was used as a criteria for the payment of the WHD.

Sorry Gordon yes it was

My enquiry is on the back of receiving a letter today to confirm that I qualify for the £150 WHD. However, since transitioning from DLA to PIP in 2019, it's the first time I've received such a letter so curious to know how & why I now qualify.
